Dental implants are a modern, popular method of replacing any missing teeth. A titanium post is used to be securely fitted and fused into the bone in place of the tooth root with a support over which a crown, denture or bridge is placed. Here at Butterfly Dental we offer multiple and single dental implants.

Our in-house implantologist will fit your new dental implants at our Altrincham clinic. But before carrying out any reconstructive work, we’ll examine your teeth, gums and jaw in detail to check that none of the surrounding soft tissue or bone is missing.

If it is, then some soft tissue and/or bone grafting may be required which will be carried out at the same time as the dental implant – or beforehand. And of course, any invasive dental work is carried out using the latest pain-free anaesthetic techniques so you shouldn’t feel any discomfort or pain.

Single tooth implant.

Unlike a bridge, the advantage of a single tooth implant is that it doesn’t impact the teeth on either side. Also unlike bridges, your teeth remain separate from each other allowing you to continue to floss your teeth as you do now.

Multiple tooth implants.

Many people opt for tooth implants where too many teeth are missing for a bridge to be successfully attached. Bridges need to be supported by surrounding teeth, so where teeth are missing altogether our Altrincham dentists may recommend multiple tooth implants. These implants will then provide sufficient, secure support for crowns or bridges.

Another option, especially where most or all of the teeth are missing, are supported dentures. Many people opt for these instead of conventional dentures because they simply clip into place firmly, don’t feel lose, make it easier to eat and don’t require the palate to be covered for suction.
