“Rediscover your beautiful smile”
At our Altrincham clinic we believe that everyone deserves the confidence of a beautiful smile no matter how extreme the problem – and the good news is that we go out of our way to make the experience as relaxing and painless as possible.
When a lot of teeth are missing or badly damaged, then having a full mouth reconstruction can be the only solution. With a full mouth reconstruction, your dentist will work to restore every tooth using a combination of veneers, crowns, implants and/or bridgework.
However even though it may sound like a lot of work, a full mouth reconstruction doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. These days, modern materials and techniques enable us to work swiftly and effectively over a minimum number of appointments.
And, as you’d expect from one of Manchester’s leading cosmetic dental clinics, we offer the latest in pain-free anaesthetics. You can even listen to music or watch a DVD at the same time.
Planning a full mouth reconstruction
Full mouth reconstructions need thorough, expert advance planning – so it’s essential to be confident that your cosmetic dentist has the necessary skill, expertise and experience.
Butterfly Dental in Altrincham has vast experience of bringing together a wide range of different dental treatments to repair, reconstruct, replace and align teeth for a dramatic, comfortable result that will last for many years as well as giving you a healthy set of teeth and gums.
Here’s what you can expect from a full mouth reconstruction
- Full mouth reconstruction is a planned programme of treatment that starts with a thorough oral examination of the teeth, gums, supporting bone, muscles and jaw joint/ TMJ. At this initial consultation, your dentist will also talk through the various options as well as asking questions about your general health and lifestyle.Next, your dentist will use the latest technology to identify what types of treatment are required and explain why. This may include digital photography, bite analysis plus any x-rays that he feels are required. At this stage they will also explain exactly what’s involved in the treatment, how long it will take and cost, and what kind of results you can expect to see when it comes to the ‘big reveal’ at the end.
- The latest computer aided design is then used to create a 3D simulation of how your finished smile will look. CAD also enables your dentist to ensure that your full mouth reconstruction will function perfectly and be comfortable. After all, you don’t want to go to all that trouble to be left with a mouth that ‘doesn’t feel right’ or causes pain.At this stage, we can also make adjustments and tweaks until everyone is completely happy with the final result. And all this is carried out before we touch a single tooth!
- Next, we use this 3D preview together with a bite impression to create a model of your full mouth construction so you can check the aesthetics from every angle while we check the function thoroughly.
- Once your teeth have been fully prepared for the full mouth reconstruction, temporaries are fitted using the 3D model as a template. This stage is also the ideal opportunity to trial the proposed full mouth reconstruction in case we need to make any additional tweaks or adjustments.
- Once we’ve made any adjustments, we’ll complete the final restoration and also add any fine colour, surface anatomy and texture ready for the big ‘reveal’!
