Smile makeovers can rectify a multitude of dental issues. Perhaps you’ve always hated your crowded or ‘gappy’ teeth. Maybe one or two teeth protrude or are missing, making you embarrassed to smile in public. Yellowed teeth are unattractive and ageing. Or perhaps some of your teeth are too short or long and you dream of a celebrity-style, even smile.

No matter how mild or extreme your case, our Altrincham clinic can offer a perfect solution with a smile makeover, whether it’s a single treatment or a combination of several different dental procedures.

What is a smile makeover?

With a smile makeover, we usually focus on the top eight or ten teeth and sometimes the lower eight or ten teeth, too. The most popular and often the simplest option are porcelain veneers – and today’s veneers can be as strong and natural-looking as normal teeth.

In more severe cases, for example if you have broken or missing teeth, your dentist might recommend a porcelain crown, bridge, implant or even implant supported dentures. Or, if your teeth are uneven, we might suggest an Inman Aligner which is the 21st century answer to the brace. But unlike braces, it can take as little as 8-12 weeks to ease your teeth back into position. As a result, it’s an excellent stand-alone solution (often completely with brilliant tooth whitening) – or it can be used as a foundation for further corrective procedures.

In the past it could be difficult to predict what your final smile would look like. Fortunately, these days, leading cosmetic dentists like Butterfly Dental use powerful computer aided design so you can see exactly how your finished smile will look in glorious 3D, from every single angle.

Computer aided design is also a great way to adjust and tweak the final result, before your dentist and his team get to work. In other words, we won’t start work on your perfect smile until you’re delighted with the finished result.

Impressions and 3D models.

Another way you can preview your new smile is at the next stage when our ceramist takes an impression of your teeth to create a model – a perfect 3D simulation of how your teeth will look. This model will also enable us to carefully check the aesthetics and function from every angle.

Temporary smile and final smile makeover.

Next, we’ll make some temporaries which give you a chance to preview your new smile ‘in situ’. It’s also an excellent opportunity to see how the improvements will function when it comes to jaw movement, eating, etc.

If you’re completely happy when you return, then we’ll copy them. If not, we can adjust them until the look and feel exactly right. Even at this stage, you have the freedom to make changes so you get the brilliant smile you want.

At your final visit, we’ll complete your smile and bond any veneers onto your teeth. Your dentist and his team will then trim and polish your teeth before the great ‘reveal’ in front of a mirror. We’ll also hand you a portrait photo of your brilliant new smile so you can remember the ‘reveal’ moment forever!
