Orthodontic options to straighten teeth

Inman Aligner

Forget the unsightly fixed braces of the past; the cutting edge Inman aligner is a quick, discreet, hassle-free way to straighten teeth. Because it’s removable, it makes eating and cleaner easier. There are no ugly wires or brackets. The Inman Aligner is often recommended when you have just a few front teeth that need correcting. It’s also quick – treatment can take as little as 8-12 weeks.

Clearstep

As the name suggests, Clearstep is a clear plastic aligner that’s almost invisible. Like the Inman Aligner, it’s removable. However the advantage over the Inman is that it can be used to straighten teeth over a slightly broader range. The main disadvantage is that treatment can take longer, typically between 6 and 18 months. (Please note that our cosmetic dentists don’t recommend Clearstep for severely crowded mouths.)

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are similar to conventional fixed braces, but because the brackets are bonded to the inside of the teeth instead of the outside, they’re completely invisible to others. Lingual braces are suitable for most types of straightening and treatment can take between 6 and 24 months.

If your teeth are heavily worn and discoloured, and you also have a very crowded mouth, then our Altrincham dentists may recommend a combination of treatments to straighten your teeth.

For example, we might quickly straighten them using an Inman Aligner before carrying out further cosmetic treatment with porcelain veneers. The advantage of this is that we can often makeover your smile without the heavy trimming back of teeth that might be needed if you went for porcelain veneers alone.
